E-JASL: The Electronic Journal of Academic and Special Librarianship

Manuscript Guidelines

Acceptable manuscripts will be on subject matter of interest to professional academic and special librarians.

Additionally, the manuscript should not have been published elsewhere; and we do not accept any simultaneous submissions.

We will accept APA, Chicago, or MLA styles--with consistency being the most important factor. Whenever possible, we would prefer the references in superscript, not in footnotes. In any case, the Editor does reserve the right to edit for style, clarity, and length.

It is the author's responsibility to obtain any necessary written permission to use copyrighted material, and to pay any and all necessary fees. Appropriate credit should be shown in the body of the work. All articles will be blind reviewed by three reviewers. The reviewing process will normally take six months. Authors will be notified when a decision is made. Articles will not be returned, unless for revision. Articles will be published after acceptance, according to our publication schedule.

Copyright belongs to you the author. As publisher, we are merely providing a process for your intellectual property to be reviewed by and distributed to your peers. We believe this enlightened OPEN SOURCE spirit will become standard practice in the future. ICAAP is a working example which shows that there really is an alternative to paying publishers hundreds and even thousands of dollars to buy back the work of our colleagues in academia.

For prompt consideration, attach your manuscript to an email message to Paul Haschak: phaschak@usouthal.edu.
